I have the os2x12 closed back version. I was thinking of ordering the open back for it . Any opinions on the differences in sound? Thanks for any info

I have both versions - Open back has far less punch/grunt and half the sound goes out the back.
If you're playing clean type sounds and you want to fill the stage sort of 3D go open back for sure.
If you're mostly a high gain user and wanting punch stay 100% closed back.

I believe they also make an open/closed back one with a convertible back.
