My Splawn isn't going anywhere, but I plan on grabbing a 1x12 combo sometime early next year. Has anyone played both of these and care to compare them ???

I'm mainly looking for bluesy cleans, classic crunch, and semi-modern tones. I have an Xotic BB to get me there if needed. I would rather have a bit of sag and low mids as compared to the tightness/high mids of my Splawn. I don't want something just like what I have already.

Thanks

Had both amps and either would get the job done. Budda a lot cheaper. Mesa Lonestar Special is another thing to try thats what i'm playing now. Can't lose with either.

I agree that either would get the job done well, but my choice would be the Budda. I prefer the tone of both channels to the Shiva's tones, they're cheaper, and the effects loop won't give you any hassle.

The Shiva has the leg up, feature-wise, with available reverb and the boost, but neither of those matter to me.

As much as I really wanted to like the Shiva, I thought the Budda sounded better and had more gain on tap.

Being a former owner of both I'd choose the Budda as well. Hell,...I'm gonna pickup a used SD18 combo sometime down the line -- it's a great sounding, light-weight, grab-and-go combo.
