There are two speaker outs on my XTC. One out is labeled "Use First." The second out has no label. What is the second out for? Can I use the second out to feed another cab? If I can, what does hooking up both feeds do the ohms given that both cabs are 16 ohms?

If you hook up 2 16 ohm cabs up, you need to put your ohm selector on the amp to 8 ohms. I think that's what you're asking right?

Well, not exactly. I know that if I hook up two cabs in either series or parallel it changes the ohms...series doubles and parallel halves. What I'm asking about is the second speaker output on the amp itself. Does hooking two 16 ohm speakers to each separate speaker out effect the ohms? In other words, two amp speaker outs going to two separate cabs...is there an impact on the ohms?

As an XTC owner I'm telling you: 2 16 ohm cabs = set the amp to 8 ohms. By plugging TWO 16 ohm cabs into your XTCs TWO seperate speaker outs the amp is seeing 8 ohms load.

OK, I got it answered...it does effect the ohms. Two cabs hooked up to the two speaker outs = 8 ohm setting on the amp.

Awesome, guys!!!

I've got one cab mic'ed in an iso room and another cab with my amp head in the control room with me. This allows me to listen to the monitor playback while recording without having to use headphones. In other words, I get to hear my full rig while recording...very cool.

Thanks, everyone!
