So my mom calls me today and says there is an article in their local paper about some dude raffling off a guitar owned and signed by Dimebag to raise money for charity. She asks me if she should buy me some tickets. So I ask her about the guitar and she says the article says it is a red Ibanez

Supposedly the dude was in a band that opened for Pantera around D/FW in the mid 80's. I was going to those shows every weekend back in the day and I never saw Dime play an Ibanez ??? Wonder if this dude is full of shit

He could have played an Ibeenhad when Pantera was writing that glam metal type stuff maybe?

hell theres no telling, he had MANY guitars, Especially once he was established, He had all sorts of companies courting him to endorse their products. Check these out.

So you never know..........could be. Maybe not. Hell if the raffle tickets are cheap, the autograph alone is worth $50.

ive only ever seen Dime play guitars in the ML shape...be them Washburns, BC's, Hamers, or Deans. all ML shapes. maybe Ibanez did try to get him once...but i bet its a guitar that Dime signed, but never played...so hes trying to raffle off one of his own guitars?

never know...but if the tickets are cheap, why not take a stab or two at it?

The tickets are $10 a pop. The only thing that has me intrigued is that this story made the local newspaper in a pretty good sized town (Weatherford, TX). This lends me to believe it is legit. I guess I'll have to check it out for myself.

that blue Hamer there is actually the first ML-shaped guitar i see with a reversed headstock.

i must confess i like it.

a lot

Did you ever see Dimebags ML that was a Dean body with a Washburn neck? He used it at the Moscow show in the early 90s. Looks awesome and it had a reversed headstock too!

Yea, I always liked the Washburn/Dean ML.

:rawk:

Killer sounding guitar too!! On the Moscow video during Primal Concrete Sledge, thats gotta be one of my fav tones from Dime ever!

damn, that thing looks awesome indeed! didn't know about this guitar before, thanx for the pix

Maybe it was the other dude's guitar that Dime autographed??

I like it a lot as well! Actually, I do like the ML shape in general. I owned an 83 or so ML and couldn't stand it. The neck was very awkward feeling.......
