Does anyone know of a way to use the Parallel loop in the VH4 for a second volume (lead boost) AND somehow use another system loop (not channel specific) to switch in and out a rack mounted effect unit without the effect sucking the tone out of my dry sound by being ever present in the signal path?

I have a GCX and an Intellifex and previously had it running just fine with my Bogner XTC. Because the XTC has built in boosting ability I didn't have this issue. If I turned off the loop, the effect was totally out of the path. Now with the VH4 as there is no boost I can't use it in the same way. I prefer the tone of the VH4 but have this new problem of effects OR boost. I'd like to do both if at all possible.

Any advice would be great!

Thanks,

Some options: Get a loop switcher to switch out the serial loop (Sound Sculpture ABCadabra) with the FX unit
or Use the FX unit to control level so you can get a boost when you switch in the FX unit
