So I just got a Boss HM-3 today since I was looking for having that particular Swedish metal and doom sound in my arsenal and this pedal does sound like what I heard in all the clips, but it seems that even with all the controls maxed, it’s a bit less volume than with the pedal off. Is that normal for this pedal? If so, that’s fine since it gives that sound I was hoping for, but wanna check. Thanks in advance!

I’ve never heard anyone referring to the HM-3 as the Swedish death metal pedal, usually the HM-2 is the Swedish death metal pedal and the HM-3 is sort of it’s little brother that is designed to be a bit more usable / less over the top - similar but not the same thing. Not sure if it helps to mention but the HM-2 I have doesn’t have the volume drop you’re describing

Yeah I know the HM2 is the Swedish death metal pedal and plan on getting one eventually too. The clips I’ve heard made both seem worth getting and just happened to find a HM3 at a good price

If anyone else knows if the volume drop is normal or not please chime in

I bought the Behringer HM300 for $30 after seeing Ola demo it, and it kills for that tone. I keep the gain at noon and it’s actually very quiet. All the Swede death tone, and none of the noise.

So I just got an HM-2 and no volume drop as Inearthed said. Actually a little volume increase with it. Amazing pedal for what it is

The HM-3 though still has a volume drop. Can anyone here confirm if this is normal or not?
