good luck man. I looked for a good while before I found mine. the good thing though was that once I had one pop up a few of them came along quick LoL. some people are ridiculous with pricing, but there are still some for reasonable prices out there.
Prices have skyrocketed lately because the block letters are in demand and you say its an old amp no one cares about that you can get rid of? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
If you’re a collector - sure go for the 5150 block letter (and you’ll pay a premium for it). But if you’re just looking for the tone, the signature Version or 6505 will get the exact same tone. Could see a difference between the Made in USA vs Made in China for the newest 6505’s but outside of that
Yeah, I know the signature and block are exactly the same tone wise. More of a collector mindset here.
People are being so ridiculous with the price. I get that it can be a bit more “rare” and having to shell out a couple extra bucks, but some people are selling their beat to shit 5150 block letters for $1200, which is ridiculous.

I just got a 6505+ Half stack for $600 and I see another on FB for $700. Including the 4x12. Yeah it is not the collector's edition but idk...Just have to keep your eyes open and wait for the right deal if you have to have that specific one.
Finding a reasonably priced block letter has proven to be a futile exercise.
Peavey is no longer supplying replacement parts for any of these amps (which includes the 6505) which would make potential restorations way too expensive.
I’m now convinced that a well-kept signature 5150 is what I want now. Same tone and you usually find them in better condition.
Anybody out there wants to get rid of their “good condition” Peavey 5150 signature?
Check Guitar Center and obviously Reverb and you'll usually see a couple turn up. Obviously you're looking for a deal hoping someone on this forum wants to unload one cheap - but sometimes you just gotta shell out the $$$ if you want one bad enough. Capitalism is a funny thing...
I always keep an eye on local craigslist ads just for something interesting. I found and bought a block letter last year that was in near mint condition for $700 in the Phoenix area (mesa). Turned out to be a guy on another forum I go to. There was also another one listed like a month later for almost the same price. They don't pop-up often but if you are patient you can find one for a good price.
Yeah I guess you guys are spot-on. I just need to be patient.
I just found a good signature model in the used section of Guitar Center (a store from Colorado) asking $1000 for it.
I told them that their price is WAY above market, but they insisted on me confusing prices with the 5150 II. Gotta love clueless Guitar Center employees.
