Bruce Dickinson Chemical Wedding Tone- Damm

I haven't listened to this album in so fucking long and I just remembered how bad ass the tone is on there. I know that most of it is Roy Z's mixing but how would you get something that crushing, yet melodic at the same time? It's truly an epic sounding record.

Not sure, I know Adrian used a Jackson King V, thats about all I know. I think Roy has a tendency to use Ravells. Thats about it. I want that tone, so badly.
 
I read an article about him in one of the guitar mags. He was talking about his working with Bruce Dickenson. He said he used a prototype Tony Iommi Laney.
 
Laney is all over that record. Badass tone, especially on book of thel
 
I'm a huge Iron Maiden fanboy, but I could just never get into Bruce's solo stuff. Just does nothing for me. :(

Adrian Smith's old ASAP album is killer though. :rock:

The amp is a GH100TI ( Tony Iommi Signature amp) it runs on El34's. I am surprised the amp is fairly cheap. Check out the web page, there are some clips.
 
i can get a similar tone my my laney with a boost pedal. I think he must have used one to get the amp to sound that tight, in some parts.
