I normally have a Lichtlaerm Audio Spyglass EQ pedal in front of my OD pedals to push the mids. Works great have had it there for about a year. Today I decided to replace it with a Source Audio EQ2, it's programmable so I thought try something different with a few EQ curves.
So I hooked it up and connect it USB to my computer and made a few EQ presets. After a while I noticed there is a noticeable buzz and hiss and my amp seemed thin and lost the bass. I fucked around with everything and prayed my Hagen was ok, tried my Mk Vii, same thing, Artemis, same thing. Spent 30 minutes playing with the EQ pedal.
Finally I unplugged the USB cable from the EC2 pedal and buzz was gone. Everything sounded stellar again.
I can understand there may be a ground lift or something causing the buzz when the USB cable was plugged in, but not the bass drop. Everything sounded fizzy, like a phone call, no bottom. Sharing in case anyone else has this issue and would be awesome of any amp kings out there have an idea of how that can happen?
