Just got my new-to-me M4 preamp today
I only had a few minutes to plug it in; when I plugged it into my power amp and a 1X12 cabinet, as soon as I fired it up I got a loud hum from the Egnater, without an instrument connected. Lifting the ground shut the hum off. This was a loud hum, more of a buzz.
Both power amp and M4 were plugged into the same power strip into the same outlet; a Vibrolux Reverb was on that strip as well, and does not hum. The Egnater is dead quiet with the ground lifted. I tried a different outlet with the Egnater, removed the power strip, and tried a different power cord.
It sounds great and I have a million questions ... I'll start a second thread for those.
Normal or something amiss?
