HELL YEAH!Thanks, @John4021. I snagged this. Had one years ago but wanted to give it another roll around. Particularly to shoot out against the SE+ I have.
THANK YOU for buying so I didn’t have to.Thanks, @John4021. I snagged this. Had one years ago but wanted to give it another roll around. Particularly to shoot out against the SE+ I have.
Very different from the Archon. More vintage sounding. My one, well, two complaints, it is stupid heavy and can be stiff in feel.Let’s us know how it is… I looked at it a few years back but based on the reviews it reminded me of the Archon 100. And I had that so I didn’t splurge at the time. This is a great deal. Hard to pass up
Good infoVery different from the Archon. More vintage sounding. My one, well, two complaints, it is stupid heavy and can be m stiff in feel.
It has variable negative feedback which is nice.
IMO it is made to be played in a band and not a bedroom.
This is pretty accurate from my memory from several years ago. All of Suhr's amps really need some volume to breathe and they are incredibly loud. They also are insanely heavy. My SE+ is a box of bricks.Very different from the Archon. More vintage sounding. My one, well, two complaints, it is stupid heavy and can be stiff in feel.

Yep, this is accurate. However, don't forget, there are two different types of PT100s. There's the CAA version and the Suhr version. Even though they were both designed by Suhr, they are tweaked differently. The CAA will be more modern sounding than the Suhr one. Suhr is much more classic Plexi-style. CAA is more hot rodded high gain shred Marshall style similar to the 3+ preamps. CAA will be more aggressive and be more similar to the 3+ preamp. The PT100 from my memory was in the modded marshall category, NFB is in there so the more that is cranked the more stiff the amp got. More open than the SE+ which is darker and more compressed. I had it at the same time as a Cameron Aldrich mod and to my ear they had a lot of similarities through the cab I was using--play feel was really different though. A lot of features and a great clean.
I had an archon and it was more modern and definitely in the metal camp. More 5150-ish from my memory.
I’d probably like it then if it has Marshall vibeYep, this is accurate. However, don't forget, there are two different types of PT100s. There's the CAA version and the Suhr version. The Archon is a 5 gain stage plate-driven design that sounds more like a thicker 5150 but still pretty defined. Less grind than the 5150, tighter than the Recto. Cool little happy medium. They made some interesting design choices that firmly make it its own unique little amplifier design IMO.
It definitely does.I’d probably like it then if it has Marshall vibe
Not even close to an Archon..Let’s us know how it is… I looked at it a few years back but based on the reviews it reminded me of the Archon 100. And I had that so I didn’t splurge at the time. This is a great deal. Hard to pass up
