Ok, I think I'm going to bite the bullet and buy one of the "new" Diezel 4x12's for my soon to be aquired Einstein. I need suggestions though. Front loaded or Rear loaded? How about speakers? I play mostly classic to hard rock stuff (Think AC/DC to Alice in Chains) in my cover band. We also do an occasional 80's metal tune (Ratt, Whitesnake) so while I don't need to bring te brootlz   , I do need the bottom end to be reasonably tight.

Also, what's the deal with the "new" Diezel cabs? What's different (and improved I would assume) about them?

Frontloaded with V30´s

Just my taste ;)

I have to say, I'm a little surprised. I was expecting you to say rear loaded with hemp cone speakers. Seems like front loaded and V30s would be a little too direct and bright for regular rock tunes.

Maybe front loaded with Greenbacks for a tight but warmer sound?

jack, check out the bands you listed

-AC/DC
-Alice in Chain
-Ratt
-Whitesnake

You said, rock/hard rock/80's metal

that's front loaded V30s man.

now if you would have said:

-Hendrix
-SRV
-Zeppelin
-Beatles

then the rear loaded/hemp would have fit IMO

you also said you needed tight bass...... you described the V30s all by your little lonesome! :D

Joey, you have a point there. Although we do play the SRV, Hendrix, Beatles stuff as well. I guess I could still pull off the classic rock material with a tighter speaker/cab combo but it would be kinda difficult to do the harder rock with a loose, boomy bottom end.

So can anybody tell me what's "new" about the new Diezel cabs? I'm guessing they are better in some way but I can't seem to find any info...

The new cabs are totally different then the older cabinets. The materials, design, speakers, bracing, baffles, EVERYTHING is very very different and the improvements radically improve and change the sound compared to the old ones. The differences are vast and the improvements are many. A lot of time and effort has gone into testing, developing and the results are stunning. We are very pleased with the results. Over the years, amps have gone through many changes however the cabinet in and of itself has evolved very little. We decided to change this because the cabinet is obviously a very significant part of a players sound. We have made these cabinets just like we have our amplifiers.....sparing no cost and using the absolute best materials and construction methods possible. We have tried every speaker imaginable and chosen the speakers we feel best enhance and work with our amplifiers to produce the best overall sounds in all the various tonal genres. A lot of heart and soul goes into each of our products and the cabs are certainly no different. The feedback we have received has been far greater then we could have ever hoped it could be. No phasing issues, wonderful projection, punch, clarity and an ability like no other to hold together on the fast down-tuned heavy stuff and still stay incredibly tight and focused. The cab does not fall apart....by this I mean get flubby, and not hold together well on its articulation and note separation etc. The cabs are absolutely wonderful and unlike anything I have tried or used before.....simple as that. Any amp, any guitar, any tuning, any music style.....the cabs simply deliver and provide a very rich and dynamic replication of what the guitarist, amp and guitar sound like.

I will have more cabinets in a week or so and you are welcome to get them straight from Diezel USA. The wait is worth it, I assure you.
