My VH4 is back in action and sounding great with the new 6550s. I got to thinking, probably the weakest link in the chain, probably for most diezel users is the cables we use. Do any of you use any special guitar cables, speaker cables, or power cables with your diezel. If so, what do you use, analysis plus, cardas, etc? What do they bring to your sonic table?

For what it's worth, I use some of the heaviest gauge power cables from my heads to my cabs - they're Contour 5512 Premium 12AGW, I use these on my stereo Diezel as well as my other 100+W heads to cabinets. They're overkill, but they're awesome. For guitar cables, I use (for the most part) Planet Waves Custom Instrument cables, and for my pedals, the best i can get - typically custom made, hand soldered and custom sized patches from a variety of manufacturers and makers.

Never had any issues with these. As I'm in the midst of creating a new pedal board, I'm researching the best options for custom sized and soldered patch cables for the board itself. Bradshaw's CAE site has a number of recommended places for these cables, and there are some tangential sites and resources you'll find along the way. One thing that is quite evident is to avoid the solder-less patch cables; the pressure connected ones - apparently their failure rate is pretty significant.

Hope this helps.

I have mentioned in the other thread as well, but here it is again:

I had cordial and thought they were great - then I bought a (very pricey) Vovox cable and have to say they are far beyond cordial, klotz and all the other brands I have played so far. If you want highest possible clarity in your sound and a much more "ordered" and wider frequency spectrum, try Vovox Sonorus Protect

Thanks, thats really interesting.

But I have to add that they only tested Vovox LINK protect. The newer series SONORUS is even better
And more expensive :aww:
