I connected my cabs 16 Ohm-input with the 16 Ohm Output of the VH4 and it had less bass. Before I had it connected with the 8 Ohm-in-/out-puts. Can anyone explain why there is a difference and what exactly the difference is?

Has cab issues with the bass output...
What make is the cab? Have you checked the inside of the cab to verify what speaker is installed? Did you verify the Ohm rating of the speaker? Did you accidentally knock the bass knob while you were messing? Did you have Cheerios or a cup of tomato juice for breakfast with a celery stalk?

There should be no big change on the amps bass response

8 ohm speakers of the same type have a tiny bit more bass to them than 16 ohm ones. Mainly because the wire wound around the voice coil is thicker on 8 ohm ones.
