Hi folks! It's been a while!
I've picked up a Cae3+ this week and am going to build a rig around it... Ideally id love an analaog switcher as I dont want to do the midi thing (Prob just a few pedals on the deck - or maybe an axe fx 2 for fx only).
Any suggestions as to where to go to to get one? Ideally with leds if possible!
Thanks

Agree with voodoo products. Midi would be waaay easier though. Especially if you are using an axe fx. How would you switch on the fly without midi in the axe?

Well, if he wants to use MIDI there are tons of options, like that Voodoo Lab product there. If he just wants a typical footswitch like the original one that was available, it´s a fairly unusual thing that gives instant access to all three channels with individual buttons instead of having to turn off the overdrive channels to get to the clean channel, like the switching architecture otherwise dictates. John Suhr used to make one, I believe, or can at least perhaps tell you how the original one was wired if you want one of the million small custom builders to make one for you.

On the back of the 3+ should be two 1/4" switch jacks to activate ch.2 and ch.3. There should also be a 1/4" jack to lift the eq (bit of a gain boost). If you're handy with a soldering iron, you could easily mod a standard generic 2-button ftsw to access all 3 channels. One button would toggle on/off ch.1, and the other button would switch between ch.2 & ch.3 when ch.1 is off. I'm pretty sure that's how the switching logic would go. I can't remember if there's any supply voltage available from the preamp's jacks to power LEDs, but it's easy enough to add a battery or power jack if you use DPDT switches.

Thanks for the replies folks, I like the idea of having the preamp switching independant of fx, I'd only really be using verb and delay on the fx and the rest pedals in front. A midi mouse or something small would be all I'd need to control a rack unit...
@BackCrack thanks very much for your input , if you could draw it and pm me I could get someone local to have at it:) Cheers

Yeah, maybe that's how the original one was wired, sort of. That channel 2 and 3 can be on at the same time is a bit special.

If using a battery, put in a switch so you don't drain it. Also, don't forget the resistor(s) for the LEDs to knock down the juice a little bit.

I have the original footswitch with my cae3+.however I only use it as backup.I have a voodoo labs control switcher box and use it thru midi, although on my bradshaw rst-24, I can switch thru any channels on it in real-time without affecting anything else midi wise, but that's a huge board on the floor if you're trying to stay small footprint.
