Here is a clip from the NAMM if that quenches your thirst. https://soundcloud.com/50mkii/friedman-d ... rley-lo-hi

Let us know how that board you have mixes with that amp especially the vibe, Timeline and Hartman pedals. Sounds like a good pedalboard you have going on there. Good decision to have the fx loop, the way I would order this one. Depending on what you are playing you may need a bit more gain, clean or non-clean boost to drive the front end. If it's a Friedman 4x12, I own one too but no Dirty Shirley.

what kind of boost are you thinking? its not going to make it louder is it??
One that adds more grit, pushes the front-end harder to get more gain, a dirty boost. Some people may want a tad more gain than what it has available. I much prefer the Hi input on that amp.

I have a 45/100 thats has the Dirty Shirley mod and there's plenty
of gain. No pedals needed with the high imput. The amp sings and
is very touch sensitive. All ya need is the volume pot on the guitar
and the right touch.
I actually like both imputs for different applications.
Very cool creation by Dave.
The amp also has great feel and the right voicing for almost
any style except detuned metal.

Right on.
With the high imput and a Les Paul I got a killer Sad But True riff
so it can get heavy but for me the sweet spot was low imput
gain maxed, mids dimed.
The amp sings man.
The amp has as much gain as a Marsha but voiced moe classic.
I have a Silverburst with MCP nasties nasty pick ups that really
blends well with the DS.
But the Detroiters KILL with the DS that are in a RO I have.
What I like most about the amp is its simplicity that relies on the hands.
All ya need is a cord your fingers and the amp.
Hey man Congrats with the new set up!
I have a SA 4X12B with V30/Greenback combo which is the choice
cab and speakers with the amp.

I have heard it played by a few others and played it myself. Great classic rock amp with great feel and fun to play! I think you went the right route with the Friedman 4x12. When I played it through the matching Friedman open back 1x12 with the Celestion Lynchback ( a good speaker) I found the bottom to be a bit too uncontrolled, flubby, and loose. The white Dirty Shirley with white matching 1x12 looked really nice though. Suppose it is going to depend on what you have in the guitars you will be playing it through if you will feel the need for more gain especially considering what you are planning on using it for. Absent a dirty boost, I prefer the gain around 2-3'clock. With a dirty boost, I can see covering more ground with the gain dialed back more. One thing for sure, if Dave did not already tell you, she likes more mids so keep them high for best results. Have fun with her!

Question - when you demo'd the DS, what were you getting out of it that you can't get from one of the 8 channels in your VH4/Hagen lineup?

Saggy spongy bouncy directivity. The Diezels are amazing but this just has a real classic vibe that they don't.

Dirty Shirley sounds like a real slut. Hope you guys are wearing protection

At the Amp Show, it looked like the blonde DS was having all the fun, moreover the brunette one. Told Dave I thought she looked nice as a blonde.

I find his amps way over-priced for what they are. No offense.

I have the DS combo. It's excellent! It can be a jcm 800, jtm 45, even an old park 75. I'm using a wampler Tumnis to push the front end when the amp gain is set low, like on 2, and the tone is killer. . I'm thinking I want to send the chassis to Dave to have him add the sat switch to it, I'd also like the sat mod to be ft switchable to be able to foot switch between imput 1/2. I'm sure Dave has some Dort of a/b/y type ft switch he can build to do that.

Reza, the Archer is SUCH a killer boost with this amp. I mean it is like having a MORE footswitch.

I would hold out for the friedman be100 pedal or the sir compre. Dave said it can be used as a boost if used correctly. Can't wait to get one for my smallbox.
