It is hard to see exactly what all switches are on the front of the CCV on the site. I have did some searching and maybe this has already been covered but I have a few questions.

First what is the full layout of this thing. I can tell what the standard knobs are and do, but there are mini toggles and two standard toggles on this amp and I am not sure what each one is and does?

Also one big question I have is if one of these switches on the front or back of the amp controls the amount of sag/give of the amp. I am asking if the amp can go from tight and percussive which is what I hear in most of the clips to more loose and forgiving with more give?

I am giving a lot of thought to one of these. I really dig the Marshall mid voice from Plexi to Hot Rod 800's and feel pretty confident this amp can do all of this. Albeit sounds a bit more modern than some of the modified Marshalls I have heard from Cameron.

Any answers to the above is appreciated.

Tim,

It's been a while since I had mine here, but basically, the min-toggles you see to the right side affect the gain style for Gain 1 and Gain 2 and basically control the clipping diodes in a traditional Jose fashion and gain levels. If you have played a Cali mod, it is very similar to setting it up. The Punch control at the far left somewhat tightens it up or loosens it up, which is what you are referring to. There is a Solo control in the middle which something thicken or thins the response, although I don't recall it having too much affect. There were no control pots or switches on the back for EQ. However, the Triode/Pentode selection will change the response of the amp.

I don't think anything was added to the new designs. There hasn't been a lot of publicity about the amp's features and tonal texture given to the general public for some reason. Nor, was there ever a manual produced with settings and configurations.

Plug in
Twist knobs
Play
Write down your settings
Twist some knobs again
Change cabs
Reset knobs
Mark your settings
Play

Thanks very much, that is what I was wanting to know. I was curious as to why no simple manual and more details of the options on the site? I am sure the manual and other things will come as they move forward. Thanks again for taking the time for the details.

You're welcome. There are others here that are much more qualified than me and who have experimented with the amp that can go into much more detail. It all came from memory, which is slowly becoming more and more questionable

Thanks Dave and Steve. Dave that was some great information. The amp sounds even more versatile than I had worked out in my head from reading and listening to clips. Sounds like they should hire you and give you any updated info and pay you to do the manual.

Again thanks to both of you, I appreciate the responses!!

There you go.......

hint: the Cameron Amp Corp. should consider paying Dave to produce the CCV manual with suggested settings to include with the new amps.

We did hire Dave to do the manual and what you just read is the first draft of it.

That is Awesome. Great job in classic style Dave. You rock :rawk:

Nice job on the manual Dave!! This is going to help a lot..
Can't wait to get mine!

Any time frame updates for the first batch Brad? Trying to schedule some time off work around the arrival of the amp.

I think they may have some delays, parts probably. I have PM'd Brad a couple of times this last week regarding the second batch estimated dates to ship as I would like to know. No response as of today so I am guessing he wants to wait to respond when he knows something concrete.

Normally with Cameron stuff I would be concerned, but with the guys involved I am not worried. It would be nice for some type of an update. There may be one in another post and I just missed it.

Last I heard is the chassis are holding things up. They are hoping for early July, but I don't know.

I'm not worried about getting the amp vs not. We all know our fearless leader Brad and all involved will produce the amps. I am just eager to get with the program!
Are you hearing early July for FIRST batch? I'm in batch 1. Hoping to get it in June if possible.
I guess a week here or there is no big deal in the grand scheme of things.
You're in the first group aren't you glip?

Hey Guys,

We are waiting on the chassis manufacturer who is a bit slow, with out those we are in the holding pattern. We have all the other parts less the silk screen panels and logos. Will update towards the end of the week when i get more intel.

Brad

Thanks for the update Brad, we know you are doing what you can to get 'er done!
Any updates you can provide will be greatly appreciated!!!

On another note Dave, you mention pedals as an option in the well written "manual".
Do you find OD pedals like the Tim or Naked work better than clean boosts like the Suhr Iso/Koko boost?
I've had good success boosting plexis with clean boosters and wonder if they work with the CCV?
I've heard your clip with the Tim boosting the clean channel which sounded great.

Dave. Just to be clear. Will the new CCV come with both a mains and HT fuse? I read somewhere the fuse inside the AC receptacle is just a spare. AN HT fuse is a must have OT protection.
