Cameron on eBay

 Cool find. For the most part about $1900.00 is the ceiling on a modded marshall that Cameron has done. There are a few that might bring a touch more but with this economy $1900.00 will be a tough amount to get. This one looks rough so that will take away also. Then again alot of times there is always someone that wants something worse than they should .  Good luck to the seller. ;)

Yeah, not too sure he'll get $2300. Even before the economy really went south these went for $1900-$2100. Who knows though...

I believe this one is also for sale on TGP for $2200....

FWIW.. i got $2300 shipped for my HG Jose Cameron JMP when i sold it... And at the time, i had seen another for $2400 too.

It all depends if there has been a shortage of Cameron Jose mods on the used market. When theyre all appearing regularly.. they'll sell for less than normal, but if none appear for months.. then outta nowhere one comes up.. Then they always go for big bucks!

yea they were getting into the low 2 grand range before the economy took a shit.

one of the bad things about the Camerons is that there seems to be no price distinction between ones with loops, and maybe even for the 50 watters?

if that was a 100 watter then i might go for it if i was feeling my oats.

but that's a little too high for 50 watter, especially with Cornford MK50's barely bringing 2 grand.

FWIW - Mark has always maintained that if he couldn't / didn't build his own amps he would own and play a Cornford MK50. They are killer amps and once you get up into that price range at least for me I'm going for the amp that was built to do that from the ground up and not a mod...this is not to discount Marks work or tone they provide in any way but at the point they are in excess of $1800 - 1900, the smart money is to just wait until Marks actual production amps are readily available.

Quote of the year! I agree 100 percent. 1st off, when you can get an amp built to do a certain thing then WTF? 2nd off I just think it is dumb spending to go over say $1900.00 at the most for around 3/4's tto say 7/8's of the ones that come up for sale. There have been a few since I have been on the Cameron trail that I would go maybe, MAYBE $2000.00 TOPS shipped. Outside of this I would rather call Mark and Fk'n wait on a CCV-100. I have two Cameron modded marshalls now and Iam in the process of hopefully getting a 3rd in the next few weeks. But I am not going over my common sense limit or I would say Fk...it!

I had the fear of getting a 50 watt vs. a 100 watt, but you have heard my 50 watt Jose. It is a monster and every bit as big as my 100 watt Aldrich. I agree about the loop comments though... they dont add a premium...

yea i was totally against 50 watters untill i tried a Cornford, so yea there's defenantly some 50 monsters. and hell, the way some of the Jose volume tapers are, 50 might be the ticket.

So while we are talking Cornfords in relation to camerons, what cornford is supposed to get you into cameron territory or similiar type of gain, dynamics etc....?????

MK50 / MK50 II

the regular MK50 with KT66's is really Damned good.

the MK50 II is amazing! it lets you switch between EL-34's or 6L6, and 34's just seem more crunchy. it also has to 2 footswitchible loops.

guess the closest thing to getting a bargain, would be the single channel MK50, and then to make it more kickass get the little mod so it can switch between the tubes.

at first i thought it was just the EL-34's that made me like the 2 channel better, but got to looking at them side by side and they have some deferent filter caps so who knows?

i've got a Herbert, an M90 , and the Cornford MK50 II all together and matched to full stacks that each amp gets along with. and for just pure tone the Cornford is the best in the room, up close or 40 ft away, it's the King! plus they feel fucking great to play on.

but yea, either of the MK50's i'd think if you like Camerons, you'd like them. kind of the right amount of gain, without killing the tone.

So the MkII is a two channel, clean and overdrive channels and two footswitchable loops? I don't care for the 6l6's never have but can I run kt-66's in one that has el-34's? Which of the two cornfords do you favor and why?

Geez, I find Mark's stuff to be the best around so I bought a MK50 thinking I'd love it but I didn't care for that amp at all. It seemed grainy and boomy / woofy to me...

FWIW, i have been a Cameron mod user too for the last 3 years and i never really got into the Cornford MK50 tones at all. The Hellcat 30 head i much preffered, but the MK50 didnt do it at all for me...

i favor the 2 channel.

the single channel comes stock with 5881's, these are the ones that KT66's will make more Marshally or 34 like.

Good info guys. I guess the cornford price tag is a big lump on the head though. I would have to try one before I would commit. Meanwhile, I cruise the forum looking, waiting, typing that I am waiting.

did you try deferent tubes?

they come stock with 5881's, and preamp full of JJ's.

whole deferent amp, when you throw the JJ's in the trash, put a Tung-sol in V1 and C9's in the rest. and then some cheapo Chinese KT66's for some Marshall crunch.

Getting ready to post my Cornford MK50II head for sale. Had it sold a few times earlier for 3K without the custom live-in roadcase, but kept chickening out. LOL! Had all of these amps in the studio last night and the Cornford is always amazing.
