Anyone interested in adding vocals to some tracks? Just for fun. @FondledDuck has some killer tracks too that could use some vocals. We both tend to write hard rock type songs. Anyone?
You have the lyrics? Or need to make lyrics ?

I sing a little and have done so as backup vocals for a few professional bands out there:

*I'm prepared to be bashed by members who can't even sing*

I sing metal, alternative rock too but my strongsuit is probably soft rock tbh.

As a 90s fan I dig that!

Nice man! Honestly one of my favorite combos is heavy music with light/melodic vocals over top. Are you set up to record vocals?

Funny how many cover band 'singers' have no clue as to how bad they are. NOT commenting on anyone here, just in general how bad cover singers are
Really 2 types -most common is those who mumble their lyrics. They know they cannot project and the band carries them. The crowd is drinking and tone deaf so it works.
Second is that 'singer' who is all in despite how bad they are. usually a female who needs attention desperately.
We have both types of singers locally and it's astounding what people will listen to as an audience.

Not trying to derail the thread of be negative, just observations over the years

I think it comes down to natural skill and experience.

I'm 52 and sound younger when I talk and I sing than your typical 52 year old but I sang for a lot of churches, small churches, mega churches and non-strainous types of music and I notice that in Christian metal, or even Christian (churchy) music, the voices tend not to "mature" over the years. I saw Michael W Smith in concert in 82 and then a few years ago and he actually sounded younger a 5 years ago than he did in 82.

No drinking and smoking (whether cigarettes or drugs like weed, etc) goes a long way, you can tell how that sort of stuff affects a voice overtime, you can see who's career is affected by it.

I am not going to act like a know it all but then again, I sang professionally so there's that.

Always listening back to phone recordings or livestream concert/service recordings has helped me alot. I remember when I was just starting and couldn't carry a tune, it was far less natural for me than some people. Definitely don't feel like I was "born" with the voice I have now. It took years.

Man, some of these are so old now. Time is flying! Here is the most recent release as far as vocals. Definitely recorded in an extremely amateur way (cheap mic, towel hung behind it and sung straight while seated at the laptop)

My setup has advanced (slightly) and my vocals have continued to improve.

I'd appreciate anyone who gives it a listen.

Not a guitar oriented track.

Also, for the love of God, please do not listen to my old releases LOL so.....rough.

Here it is!

Pretty cool.

Reminds me of old school 30 Seconds To Mars Edge Of The Earth, or at least kinda possesses that vibe!

I think I hear what you are saying! I've always liked them but somehow have never heard this track. Yeah, the music itself is kinda vibing like that. The vocals are definitely very different from 30 sec - I appreciate you giving it a listen!

My singing voice sounds so different from my speaking voice that everyone who has heard "When I..." Asks me who I hired to do the vocals. :P

Thanks for starting this Blake. Blake and I have been warehousing a bunch of completed songs, song ideas, and riffs. It would be awesome to coordinate with other members to breathe some life into these songs. Let’s have some fun with this.
