Can I use an aftermarket footswitch with my Rebel 30?

Hey guys,
No problems with my Rebel 30 footswitch, but I don't like the hardwired cable. I'd like to have a footswitch that will allow me to plug in my own instrument cable so I can mount the footswitch neatly on my board.

Will this work? If so, any recommendations on what would be a good purchase? Also, what would that do for the reverb? Doesn't quite matter as I have a Line 6 M9 on the way and can use it for verb, which I don't use much of anyway.

Thanks!

Hmm...27 views and no replies. Oh well,

I remembered I had an old Radial Big Shot ABY box collecting dust in my parents' garage. I plugged it up and lo and behold - it works! The only downside is the A/B switch is very close to the "Both" switch, and hitting the "Both" switch causes the channel to jump quickly from one back to the other, as if it's trying to run both at the same time. I may just remove that switch and cover the hole with tape.

Absolutely positive it is an option. One of things you may have to do a little research on. Can you solder? Stereo jack on the existing foot-switch, stereo cord will do just fine I believe. Actually I would like to do the same.

Wish I could solder, but never have done it and I'd probably mess it up. My drummer's dad actually builds amps (really nice Trainwreck clones actually) and I'm trying to see if he can take the Egnater footswitch and pull out the cord and install a jack for me. But for now, I'll try the Radial Bigshot switch and see how it works for me.
