can the m4 be used through the fx loop of a mod 50?

And does the e2 have any new features relative to the m4? Or is it the same concept except it only houses two modules

similar concept...but the E2 will have a looper in it...so you can use it w/ a existing amp w/ a series effects loop. That way you can use the 2 modules with ANY head.

Signal path would be:

Guitar -> E2 input -> E2 Preamp Send -> Guitar amp head input -> Guitar amp head series effects loop send -> E2 preamp return -> E2 output -> Guitar amp head series effects loop return.

The looper will allow you to switch between the E2's modules and the head's preamp tones.

Eric, in the signal path you provided, where would effects go? I just have a Glass Nexus in my Rebel's effects loop but was wondering where it should be placed? Thanks!

It'd be treated just the same as a M4 / RT2/50 would. Modified the signal path to have effects..

Guitar -> Pedal Effects -> E2 input -> E2 Preamp Send -> Guitar amp head input -> Guitar amp head series effects loop send -> E2 preamp return -> E2 output -> Line Level post-preamp Effects (delays, verbs, etc) -> Guitar amp head series effects loop return.

Gotcha. Guess I've played combos with minimal effects for too many years so on paper it looks a bit complicated. Rebel's my first "real" amp head. Pretty straight forward though when I visualize the actual connections. Just can't wait to get my hands on the real thing and start acquiring some modules
