Please tell.
Probably at lower volumes its okay, not ideal, but when you start juicing the master and pushing it then it will create issues. Please tell.
101B is a 120 watt head. Why can't you? Greenbacks? I can tell you, their speaker ratings are quite conservative. Unless you're running some 150 watt beast at full blast for extended periods, I wouldn't sweat it.
Rest assured those speakers are 25w each. It's been discussed, debated and proven ad nauseam over the yearsEVH 4x12's are technically 80 watts. Their heads are 100. Go figure.
Now, they may call it a 100 watt cab, but under the same breath, rate the speakers 20 watts. Last time I checked, 20 x 4 = 80.
G12M 25 watt 75 hz 1978 Blackbacks, not reissues. You won’t blow a cabinet with reissues unless you’re trying to do so. They can take a beating.

It doesn't output 120 watts all the time; it's somewhat relative to volume. The harder the power section is pushed, the more wattage it puts out. You'll be fine101B is a 120 watt head.
You'll be at ear-bleeding volume well before being in the ballpark of 120 watts. It doesn't output 120 watts all the time; it's somewhat relative to volume. The harder the power section is pushed, the more wattage it puts out. You'll be fine
Yes, I know. But they still call them 20 watts.Rest assured those speakers are 25w each. It's been discussed, debated and proven ad nauseam over the years
I ran a 120 JSX into my 100 watt Greenback cab, no problem. I can't imagine needing to even get remotely loud enough to cause damage. Gigging volume is what, 4?101B is a 120 watt head.
It’s not about need my friend. It’s about what crushing volume does to those poor crying Celestions…pushing a tube amp/speaker cab to its limits is a beautiful thing. If only for a short time anyway.I ran a 120 JSX into my 100 watt Greenback cab, no problem. I can't imagine needing to even get remotely loud enough to cause damage. Gigging volume is what, 4?
