I always liked these guys. To me they were standout for the stuff that grew out of the "grunge" scene. They had a groove, great tone, and strong songs that actually had solos that fit the songs. Anyway, check em out, they can still bring it.

I kinda liked them to until they hit the nickel back stride of every song sounding the same, start soft then get loud. I saw them live a couple years ago possibly before the covid shut downs or right after and all the singer did was tell bad jokes and talk about being high on mushrooms the ENTIRE Time.

I dug their first album and listen to it from time to time still. Especially the first half. 'You' and 'Far Behind'.

Back in the day, when friends and I were trying to transition from hair metal to grunge I had this running joke:

You can take your Pearl Jam, stick it in your Candlebox, and bury it in your Soundgarden

some cool rigs there! A Landry, an Orange, a Marshall, a couple of Roland JC's, and a Mesa Mark sitting on top!

and almost all of their stuff was recorded with a Peavey VTM 120. i'm facebook friends with the guitar player that wrote most if not all of their stuff from when they were popular & he's explained his(old) rig many times to me. he later switched to Dual Rectifiers cause he got a HUGE Discount on them back then.

VTM's are legit. A VTM 60 was my first amp, i was too dumb to know how good it was. I distinctly remember thinking "This Metal Zone will sound GREAT and give me the sound I want through the VTM!":doh::doh::doh:

It's completely ok. My First "REAL" Amp was a Carvin X100B or whatever they were called & i used a Metal Zone with that.

I heard those were actually pretty decent. I had a Peavy Valveking for my first tube amp :(

They sound damn solid and inspired.... nice to see & hear \,,/

I really liked the 3rd slbum . This is my favorite. Reminds me of deftone riffs too

I wish Peter Klett was still with them.
Agree. Love Klett’s playing as well as Candlebox. These guys sound good, but they’re not Candlebox. Should be called The Kevin Martin Band as he’s the only original member.

Do they finally reach Nirvana after?

I guess I should say something about Candlebox instead of hijacking. Never really got into them. When they were at their peak, they were kind of taboo among my crowd and peeps would likely get made fun of for mentioning them. I'll have to check them out a little deeper beyond their radio hits. Where should I start?
