Check it out, some really cool and amazing stuff. I mean compared to a lot of the Fano/Novo hipster stuff...... this stuff looks to be on another level and less idk..... less "meh" and actually cool IMO.

Oh fuck. I just watched the first video. That was painful. Man. and the second video name. Well, maybe I can't read so well, but I thought it said, Castedosa guitar shop Tools....because that is what they are.

Yeah. I pretty much just opened this, saw another strat/socal/suhr adnauseum and scrolled on past. I guess i can click on the video
I mean a lot of stuff is like that right from boutique to boutique but in general having the Ybarras play a hand in the pups and the history there kind of separates this from the next boutique cookie cutter stuff or whatever else IMO. Nevermind the work from a former Masterbuilder and some pretty unique takes on classics.

Listen. I am not going to argue about this. I will just say I see a single coil and get a big limpy. And I see a strat type guitar with that round head stock and tired round horn body shape...All test gone, makes me want to sing a love ballad

I mean and being honest it's not my current jam but coming from 6 point/7.25 necks mainly...... now playing mainly way flatter stuff and buckers over single coils a part of me appreciates this stuff.

These are pretty dope and especially given the Ybarra family connection...... which is cool as hell ImO and pretty interesting being from the Anaheim/Fullerton area. There really aren't a lot of bad things to say about these especially relative to the next boutique offerings out there, they don't seem any worse. It's pretty special stuff and hard to take for granted IMO.

And yeah the Ybarra family connection is pretty awesome >_<

They seem to sell too so I guess a lot of people like then and dig them too and seem to be worth the money, all the ones you listed are already sold out :dunno:

oh i've tracked them since wildwood started carrying them...and before i could call my buddy who works there and tell him how goofy it looked, it was already gone.

every time one comes in, it literally sells within minutes. I do not understand whatsoever, but clearly i'm not the target market!

The thing people like me if I had the money and people that do have the money is just they are so damn undeniably cool. It isn't Fender but they are pretty unique and have their own vibe, like it could have been a thing in a different universe where Carlos was around when Fender was. Aside from that his work just looks killer, all of them look amazing and exceptional. Some of it just looks like Leo could have done it and not just in some cookie cutter way a lot of others do IMO.

It just looks like stuff you'd see at GC Hollywood or in a top Boutique Shop. Carlos is a pretty exceptional Masterbuilder as well all things aside and his work shows. He also grew up like a mile or two away from where Abi grew up and not that far from Fullerton either.

You couple that with the family heritage of the Ybarras and the Fullerton connection. You don't just have Ybarras growing out of trees or coming out of thin air, Abi makes what she makes for as long as she can and she's been making pups for the best since the 50s from Hendrix to Richards or whoever else worth a damn who picked up a Fender back in the day. And she's passing on that to her daughter and keeping it in the family with Castedosa.

It's hard to put a price on stuff like that IMO and I'm not surprised they are doing so well, didn't even know but just appreciate the work and the stuff and the heritage/pedigree.
