Vox-In-A-Box pedals are becoming more and more popular lately. They've never been as popular as Marshall/Fender amp in a box's but there's definitely been a shift in the industry and builders seem more focused on the Vox sounds these days - and at least the future looks as if they'll focus on that more.
Vox released their very own Mystic Edge which emulates the AC30 sounds, Keely has the Oxblood, Victory Amps has their Copper pedal and many others have been released in recent years if not recently. The Vox sound definitely seemed like a more difficult sound to emulate.
I delved in and bought a Catalinbread CB30 (the newer Sweetwater version) and have been nothing but impressed. Running it through the Marshall JTM Studio, this pedal gives all the warmth and jangle that Vox amps are known for. You can hear and feel the complexity which is pretty neat!
