Hey Guys,

When my band starts playing out, there will likely only be room for one 4x12. I feel that even at club volumes that the CCV will easily overpower my Greenback loaded cabinets.

I have a spare Marshall cab that's empty and I'm trying to decide what to load it with. I was thinking either Celestian 65's (or warehouse ET-65 clone) or Celestian CL-80 (seems to be pretty popular). Also mentioned has been the CL80/ g12H (30 watt) mix in an X pattern, but won't the vast difference in watts of those speakers create a situation where the CL80's overpower the H30's?

I'm not really interested in Scumbacks, they are too pricey.

Thanks for all opinions!
John

It is not the watt rating of the speaker that makes one louder, Its the sensitivity of the speaker. Higher db say 100 compared to 97db that can make one louder. The Hog.

no issues here with the mix, 3 plus years and counting...

Sounds good. Which H30 do you like? I know there is a bass cone version of that guy.

I assume you're using the X patern?

i like the annivery h30 mixed with the classic lead 80 british cones, not the chinese...

Thanks Nick. I'm tempted to try the WGS clones, but they are a little different than the original so that sort of throws everything off. Could be for the better, but who knows.

Nicks cabinet sounded cool, but I prefer all CL-80's or all H30's. I really prefer to run both cabs at the same time though :D

Still waiting on my Cameron cabs to make it across the pond.... :aww:

What's the holdup

Sent them as cargo. Take's a while. Air freight is way too 'spensive....

That's how you tell if I am keeping an amp or not....wait and see if I order matching cabs

I tried mine with Scholz Classics. Incredible cutting tone. Very thick, strong but not harsh mids and highs.

I really like my Cameron cabs... I did hear that the new ones are a little different from the old?

So the rear panels and how are they different?

I just got my purple Cameron 412 cab delivered. Haven't opened it up to check anything out, but I will say these H30's are great with the CCV. It was instant gratification and had to dial back just a bit from the Greenback settings and bring the bottom end up some more because they handle it better. I didn't think these speakers would have so much more bottom end than the GB's. And, the fucking cab is heavier than the Bogner's by about 10lb. Unless there is a cinder block in the bottom of the cab, I will say that there's a little more meat on the Cameron design, regardless of the back panel.

Oh, I put the original CCV in the purple shell. Here you go......the Grape Ape. Everybody knows that purple sounds better

I was reading how different colors allow different frequencies of sound pass thru materials. So that must be true!
