CCV do I need an attenuator?

Hopefully my CCV will be here soon. Have an alex's attenuator I am thinking about selling but only if I do not need it with the ccv. Will help me get a smaller backup amp if I truly don't need it. I had a Marsha and thought it was way too loud when dialed in to sound good. Any advice from the few current ccv owners would be appreciated. Thanks

you wont need an attenuator.

You will not need it. The CCV sounds great at all volume levels.

No, especially with the new pots were implementing for the master volume. I dont think Physco Dave plays that loud on his clips. you might want to check those out

no issues here with needing an attenuator.... the taper on my pots is just fine.... especially in full clipping mode

Do u guys always have the clipping on?

usually full clipping on the solo master and mid clipping on the rhythm master

I think that's something you should decide for yourself. As the current owner of your Marsha, I don't think it remotely needs an attenuator to sound good at low volumes (an opinion shared by at least two other previous owners of this same amp). I've tried it both ways and simply don't see the need. This leads me to believe that while others don't think you'll need one with the CCV, you may think otherwise.

I will say the volume masters are extremely sensitive- depending how you set the amp up. Ch 2 will take your head off w just a SMALL tweak of the master!

I believe Brad and Rob convinced Mark to use different pots on the production models, with the intention of eliminating this problem.....

Brad, I think if its the same pots you guys are talking about I brought those to Mark and said hey try these I think they will work, then I think Rob heard them and was impressed compared to the old ones then convinced Mark to use them instead of the old ones.

Hey Brad,
on the topic of attenuators, are you guys still planning on going into production with a Cameron attenuator?

Actually not much convincing just Mark asking me if I could find a suitable pot to his spec. Apparently the one I found works better.
