After 6 months I finally have the CCV...it got here late today.
I must say..it totally fuckin rocks. It is not as bright as the Cameron Jose but has more gain and saturation with the gain style to the right. It is very tight but in the low power mode has the right balance of sag and stiffness. Pick harmonics are there anywhere anytime anywhere on the fretboard. I have no way to record clips yet but will say it sounds very similar to the other ccv clips superunknown and others have on you tube. The biggest surprise is how pristine the clean can be... It has a wide range of tone from very sparkly clean to somewhat overdriven. All the hype is real this amp is sick and is at the pinnacle of hot rodded marshall tones. It may be the mercury iron but this amp is easy on the ears even when turned up, meaning it doesnt hit you with a ice picky ear piercing scream as do a lot of marshalls. It just sounds awesome. Rob did a great job on the taper of the pots...they are the best i have seen on any amp.
It has been tough to wait so long for it and i know others have waited longer and continue to wait. I am glad i have the CCV as it is a great amp...more to report later.
I guess at the end of the day if Brad/Dave/Rob/Mark C had not worked together on it i would not have the amp...so thanks guys...also a huge thanks goes out to rlord1974 for swapping spots with me...thanks man it meant a lot.
