I had such killer tone last night at a local club. :lame: It was so good that even when I played wrong chords with the band it still sounded good.  Thats good tone!

During the week I auditioned some Mullard 12ax7 preamp tubes, I think in V1 V2 and V5.

Is V5 the phase Inverter or is that Channel 1 gain?

Warm, squooshy but still tight. I love em'!

Try an NOS EI yugo in VI. Big Tight Bottom, Sweet Chimey top, and Very Punchy...

Rig Talk Ledgend psychodave Likes the RFT in VI, but while they do have a nice Bottom End I find the Top end is dry, and not as nice, and they dont project like the EI's do... It's like everything comes out of the speaker cab and into the room with the EI's.

Chinese Ver.8 in all the other positions...

Best,

Of Course! My Setups are The Shizz! :D and I had a guy from CT do a Fret Job on it when I got it cause it buzzed... Since then I started doing Grind & Polish's myself also... Bought all the Luthier tools, and pretty much have it perfected.

I'm really glad you like it man! It really did have only an hour or 2 of playing time on it! Thought you didn't like it that much cause it's not in your Signiture...

Hope You are Flood and Tornado Free my Brother!

Steve I would say it's anything you want it to be... It has bottom galore, and if you set it up like me... I't DOOMSVILLE!

But you can pair it with H30's and set it up to make your ears bleed, that thing has range, and it's all how you twist the dials.

Nope, I use Ei in V1 and 8th everywhere else. Nick told me you and him use them...some time after I got the CCV, so I've been running it with them for more than a year now. Killer combo.

Dave,

Nick stopped using them cause he feels they are un-reliable cause ONE I gave him let go... I've had good luck, had one in my Stereo Pre-amp for 9 years! He using an RFT, and he told me you gave it to him so I thought you were into them. I put one in my 79' Jose HG, and was Astonished that the sound jumped back into the Cabinet, and got 25% the Size it was with the EI... I couldn't put a new EI in there fast enough.

They are the Shit, I have them in my Marshall Voodoo, Marshall Friedman, and CCV My Fav! Nothing has the PUNCH, Top, and Big Bottom. Albiet they are noisey... But like we use to say: "What Do You Want, Everything??!!!"

I think I was running a Sovtek LPS in V1 and Ruby Chinese HG+ the rest of the way in my old Cameron. We are set up totally different though. I scoop the mids in my amps and mainly rely on V30's. You run a lot of mids and those CL80's. Totally different output.

So... If you Set the Mids @ 8:00 o'clock, the Treble @ 11:00 o'clock, Presence @ 11:00 o'clock.

MAX The BASS AND THE PUNCH! & Dip Switchs all on Center.

Add a Cameron Cab w/4 CL-80's

A Mahogany Guitar with Either Duncan Blackouts, or a MCP Afwayu.

YOU HAVE MY SOUND!!! :D
