Been a week now w my CCV. A few thoughts:
- its loud. I pulled out my sh!tty Radio Shack Decibel meter to see what I was hearing. Or should I say my band mates have been hearing. They said the amp was loud. I mean I know it cuts better than my Cam Mod Marshalls. I wasn't sure I was just cranking it up a bit being on Honeymoon. However where my usual live stage volume is about 110 decibels 1 1/2 ft from the cab. (meter on the floor) I saw I was running above that w the CCV. So to get it to that level I have the Master volume on Channel 2 just open! (barely on if you will thank you ;) )
I've been trying to dial in Channel 2 constantly because there are so many options. Channel 1 took me less than a minute to dial in and I used it all night as my main rhythm tone on gig.
The amp has extreme, excellent dynamics. Something more noticeable live than at home.
The amp has a ton of gain if you want it but somehow remains tight on the bottom no matter how much gain you add. That's incredible and a Cameron trademark!

here is a short clip w/ the settings posted below :

Settings today are:

I'm afraid to do anything to 1 since it is so good as is. Pretty low gain but suits me really well! I have a SHO I might try!

I am glad when people find the tone they seek!
Congrats dude. The CCV looks amazing by the way

Here are my current settings. I usually use the low power and pentode settings
Thanks, I'll check it later. It's a complicated amp!

Your settings are really close to mine. I'm still tweaking Channel 2 though! I don't have a Pentode/Triode switch on mine. Is yours on back? (I don't ever use them though so not missing it)

Yeah, they are close. The difference could be tubes, speakers, ears etc.

Yes, the pentode/triode switch is on the back. I actually use it a lot. It tames some of the big bottom end and a tiny bit of sizzle. Makes for a super smooth lead tone.

Oh, BTW, you need to tame down your love of the CCV. Some people hate it that you have found killer tone and will say the CCV isn't all that!

As my name states "AmpAddict" ....like the ladies I like 'em all, but can only be true to one. "There can be only one"  I think more will be available in the future. And hey I still have much love for my Marshall Mods!

I added Blow Torch now and have both brights to the left. It reminds me of my Jose (the real deal) To tame it back I use my guitar volume and than I can choose how much blow torch i want. Its just screaming as a lead tone! Super tight rhythm tone and just pure all around awesomeness!

I hope to try these settings out soon! Talked to Mark and he's shipping this week.

Try the first bright switch all the way left, the second all the way right.

I just wished everybody could get a chance to own one of these amps! I'd sure would like to have one in my future...

Me too. I think we may just get our wish.

Todd - for channel 2, it gives a better woody when you run the master equal to or a little higher than the gain(s). Try the gains around 9:00 and the master at 10:00, with the mystery switches to the left. You don't need the bright or extra clipping. Then bring the EQ to taste. Otherwise, the amp saturates a bit too much.

My $0.02

I'll check it out! After all it does have your name on it! ;)

Get the BogModMarsh yet?

Oh yeah. This thing is pretty cool. Looks like Reinhold took a JCM 800 and made a 2 channel Plexi out of it. I had to pull the chassis to see what all he had done since the original V1 was bypassed. All the EQ is very touchy and has a huge impact. With the master volume bypassed and all the gain coming from the power tubes, this thing gets a huge driven Plexi tone. Its almost like a Trainwreck front end and a Marshall power end. This is probably a one off for sure. Reinhold said he thought this was done in Europe. There's a reference on the Marshall main board to "Nick 2203 USA". For a one-off though, it is shit hot and no attenuator needed. If you run it through GB's, of course the mids have to open up and this is probably the loudest part of the EQ curve. Running it through V30's though and keeping the mids low, treble low, presence up, I can run the channel volume up around noon and the get the old master to interact with it. Very tasty!
