Anybody know what these are? I need a CHEAP 4x12 cab and have been looking for an old Marshall beater, but I found a Carvin cab with these speakers in it but don't know what the heck they are.

They're decent speakers. Marshall used them in their cabs in the early 80's. They replaced the G12-65, then later were replaced by the G12T-75's. It's been a long time since I played through any, I don't remember the good and bad points. Seems like they were fairly smooth sounding speakers.

Weren't those the "modern lead" speaker? If so, they were supposedly not too different than the 12-65 (looser bass) and was disco'd about 5 years ago ( or at least on Celestion's site until 5 years ago).

Hmmm, the guy with the Carvin is local and offering the cab for $200. I'm wondering if he would take less...
