Celestion K100 clip!!

Very nice, has a cool sizzle to it. Sat really nicely in the mix.

I’d have preferred more chewiness in the tone but that’s just me.

Can you share amp and signal path?

Didn't listen to the clip, but K100s are my favorite speaker. Sizzle like no other, at least in the cab I have them in. I'm planning on buying more and loading up my other cabs to see if they provide the same effect.

I definitely hear that high end keerang I hear in clips and IRs of them.

I keep wondering if I would like the real things. I really like IRs of them, but dont like super bright tones in person.

Sounds good and how mine sound from what I can tell. As far as Celestion's go they do have a nice sizzle, but no Celestion really sizzles vs a JBL D120F, Altec 417C or Cletron/Roger Charles, but some guys are wimps about those speaker's highs being too much lol

Thats the speaker that Mick Thompson was using in his Rivera KR-7 cabs, I forgot what they labled them but I heard they were actually K100 speakers.. I custom ordered a KR-7 2x12 Rivera cab when I bought my KR-7 Head.. I need to put that whole rig up for sale, its very nice but I dont use it.

Yeah, he has been known for using them for years, until recently when he helped Eminence with the DV-77.

Slayer is known for the K100s also.

im not sure what i think, i think it sounds cool but im not sure?? kind of similar in a different kind of way than my normal stuff?

I think it gives a nice EQ. The recording sounds much more raw than your normal. Not sure if that is what you are looking for. But i dig it

Some of us don’t like frying bacon hash in our high gain tones. There’s a difference between the usual Celestion sizzle and mosquito mating calls
Celestion's don't get real sizzle. Those speakers are awesome, but I know some clips of them out there don't show them well. The JBL's also sound amazing mixed with Redbacks or 20w GB's ala VH. Not that I care what others use, but VH and the Allman Bros had success with JBL's and RR with Altec's (admittedly I never cared for his tone, but Altec's are still some of my favorites). The JBL's also have huge lows, especially the E120's (most I've heard in a speaker)
