What are these scale positions that you speak of? Is that like when you prop up against the wall when weighing yourself so the number isn't as high?
If you can't make the switch every measure then make the switch every two measures. If you can't make the switch every two measures then make it every four measures. At least this way you will learn to keep count of the measures in your head so if you get to a trading 4's/8's situation there won't be any guesswork. I am not a good teacher but this simple exercise helped me move up and down those positions on every string much more fluidly and it really doesn't matter what scale(s) you use as long as it's not the kind you step on. :LOL:
