I have a really loose pot on my DK24 which causes me to accidently turn down the volume while playing. The tone pot works perfectly so I was thinking of replacing the pot.

Since I'm already taking it to a tech is there anything you guys recommend electronic wise (ie different pot values)? I have a custom 5 in the bridge so I'm happy with it. Just the volume pot has to have something done to it.

With most humbuckers, you're just going to want a standard 500k audio taper pot.

One thing to note is that pot tolerance can vary pretty wildly, up to 20%. This means you could theoretically get a built-to-spec "500k" pot that actually measures in the mid 400k range, which would be considerably darker than a pot that actually measures 500k. It might be useful to measure any specific pot you get just to make sure.

CTS tends to be the industry standard pot manufacturer. They make good reliable stuff.

If everything else is working fine, there shouldn't be much else to be done. If you want to get fancy, you could add push-pull pots to split the humbuckers to single coils. Also, Charvels tend to use no-load tone pots, which means that on 10, the tone pots take themselves completely out of the circuit. The effect of this is that a no-load pot on 10 makes the guitar just a bit brighter in the highs than a standard tone pot on 10. You can buy no-load pots, but you can also make them yourself if you want. Youtube should have the tutorials.

CTS Pots are big and beefy.. They take up a lot of space and have a lot of resistance when turning them. I bought some for my turd and they went scratchy real quick.
All pots from back in the day were cheapies. Alpha's are inexpensive and have an easy light action. Don't sleep on those..

stay away from bourns. They’re the one that are low friction. CTS should be fine
