I picked up this MIM Charvel SoCal HH hardtail from @Fiesta Red earlier this week. It came completely disassembled, so I had a clean slate to do something a little bit different.

I didn’t go CRAZY.

I installed a set of Seymour Duncan Antiquities JB/Jazz. Where I went different, was that I went with a master volume/kill switch/3 way Switchcraft toggle. I’m not a fan of blade switches.

That’s pretty much it. lol.

The neck and kill switch are on the ups truck for delivery today. So I should have it ready to rock later today!!!

I will post more pics when it’s finished.

Man. Love this. Hardtail, ebony, HH, zebras. Fuck yeah. Congrats! I wish the necks on those were a little chunkier, I'd snag one in a heartbeat...probably still should. Is that color called Pharoah gold or something? Rock like an Egyptian.

I wish the neck was fatter too

Very cool looking, turned out nicely. I'm actually hoping to finish my project Strat today.

I was wondering who picked that up. Looks great!

I recently sold one of those in candy apple red. A little more meat on the neck and I would have kept it.

It may just have been the ones that I've played but it seems to me that the rosewood and ebony board models have a slightly thinner neck than the maple board models.

I have a MIM Charvel san dimas. I would like to swap out the tone pot with a killswitch. Uhmmm

On my HT HH, I have the switch removed and two push pull volume controls to blend. I didn't like it at first but love it now. I set up the neck for clean and coil tapped with the volume knob just cracked open a little. Then I blend in the bridge to taste. Once I'm up over 1/3 or so on the bridge volume, the neck pickup is drowned out. Clean to mean and everything in between. It's very dynamic and cool for what I'm doing.
