I really liked the Greco’s that I had. Never played an Edwards but they are supposed to be pretty good too.

Grab early 80s Greco, Tokai or Burny. You can get a good guitar at decent price. There was one on local Craigslist recently for cheap. They can be found at good prices.

You can still find Gibson LPJ models for a decent price. 2014 is my favorite year

I've had 2 Edwards, and now on my 6th Greco. The Greco from 77-87 are good to great; and are more of a realistic LP clone than the Edwards to me anyway. I had 2 Sykes Edwards from the late 90s and they were nice. But if I have to pick one, it's a Greco.
One particular 1980 EG500, I paid like 475 shipped from Tokyo 5 yrs back, this damn thing had the heavy tone of the Gods. Just a dark sinister growl that not even my 80s Charvels/Jacksons could match. Still kicking my own ass for selling it. Ugh.

I would look for an early 90's Gibson LP Studio with the ebony boards. Usually they will be bland colors but sound and play so well and slip through the cracks for reasonable prices.

That’s what I have bro…early 80’s Greco sykes…the one with the kahler. Guitar has “it”, if you know what I mean…totally rewired it with all emg quick connections, toggle and pots. Did the 24v battery swap. Tuned to c# with super bullets. She’s a sleazy nasty bitch. Need another one bad.
