Cleans with humbuckers...

Hello,

I´d like to ask for advise. I have VH4 and PRS guitar with HFS pickup and Schecter with EMG 707. I use this guitars for really heavy sounds..like limp Bizkit, Korn and so..but it is really hard to get clean sound from this pickups, when I switch to first channel..the gain must be low..but than..the channel have not enough volume at all..with global settings of amp..(master is set up...but than I must set the volume on third cannel down to compensate, but I really like the sound..when the preamp section have the volume up too)..but even this setting..the EMG 707 or HFS distortes the sound..especially,..when I hit the string wery hard..
I´d like to have theat kind of clean sound..like Wes Borland had or so..but I know..he uses for this Rolad Jazz Choruss..
Have you any idea..how to do this with my VH4 too? I thought to try some stom boxes for this case..but have no experience with this..
..would it be usefull to use for example acoustic simulator from Boss..or MXR Ekvalizer box.. will this work?...to lower the signal from my guitar useing this kind of boxes..when I will switch to clean channel? I use midi GCX switcher..so no problem..to add this kind of stompbox..only for cleans in to the signal chain..

You should be able to balance out the master volume and channel volumes to be similar when switching channels. Unfortunately, the humbuckers that give you great cleans will not give you great distortion tones.

I know.. that the cleans will not be so good..but I only want...to get out that distortion in cleans without useing another amp for cleans... I saw somewhere, that for exapmle Slipknot guitarist used the Acoustic simulator..he had it in rack ..so I thinked, that he used it in some like this cases..because I have no other idea..for what other will he have it :D ..

I want good distortion..that I have with VH4 anfd the piskups :) .. and now only to lower the distortion signal from the piskups for the cleans..
 
Why can't you use channel 1 for cleans and the other channels for distortion? Push the channel volume on channel 1way up and switch channels back and forth until the volume is the same...should be easy to do. I just did it on mine.

Split your humbuckers!

I split my ToneZone and AirNorton and have unreal cleans you can feel in your chest with my VH4 on Ch1- then change right to "rip your face off" grind in a flash on Ch4 w/ flic'n the mini toggle back to humbucker. $3 part at radio shack
