Hey guys, so I did a quick vid of my Clinch FX EP-PRE. It's a great pedal that has been under the radar somewhat in recent years. It's basically the preamp section of an Echoplex tape delay. Thanks for watching! And sorry for the uninspired licks! My playing was a bit flat yesterday.

Gear Used:
Switchback Country Boy guitar (Duncan Custom bridge, Custom P90 Neck)
Marshall JCM 800 Reissue
Mesa 4x12 Stiletto Cab (V30 speakers)
Sennheiser MD421 microphone

More chords and riffing please! I assume that went through the 800? Can we hear it juicing the 800 that is already opened up? Go for some VH!

Sounds nice man. Some on TGP posted some killer VH style clips using this and a modded Marshall. Probably Paulscape. I'm thinking about using one on my board in tandem with my Badgerplex EP3.

Thanks guys! I've been in a big jazz phase when I'm not playing metals, so that has seeped into my playing. I'm not much of a VH devotee really, but I'll be sure to bring the riffs next time around.

Clinch makes a very nice product indeed. I've had mine since since 2007-08 and never had an issue and they are one 100% of the time when I play. I just had Mr. Clinch add the current switch to mine to make it like the current models. If you have one of the newer EP-PRE's that have the internal switch that switches a .022uf bypass cap in and out of the circuit it might be worth your while to try both modes.

With the .022uf cap switched in it is the earlier EP-3 circuit(brighter tone)which sounds great in and of itself, but...

With it switched out it changes the low to low mid attack characteristics of the pedal to the later EP-3 circuit which was darker, a bit thicker and seemed a bit more aggressive as well much more akin to what I hear when compared to my later serial no echoplex which is in the late 11000 range. This darker circuit was pretty consistent into the 28000(at least on the schematics) serial numbered echoplexes. Anyway it is cool to be able to choose between which one works best with what ya have amp and setupwise.

The darker selection seems to work best for me in of my NVM SL and my 68 PLexi but I bet it would sound good in front of the JCM800 as well.

NICE tones out of those SG's in your vid! Great guitar tone!

I have an old and new model.

They worked wonders in some of my systems. Not as much with my current. But that's no different then most pedals. :)
