So, even with GC's terrible packing record, I still peruse and sometimes buy from them because they still underprice things from time to time...I saw this Plexi...

Which is a bit much for the condition, year IMO. But, while looking through eBay I saw this....

This eBay seller is doing what the Japan LP re sellers do...posting something for sale at a retailer, using their pics, marking it up and see what happens. What a douche. Lol

i've been on the hunt for one and saw that GC one too! I finally have a line on one but no clue what a fair price would be. Would love to hear folks thoughts if possible.

So, a clean early 1969 Plexi panel will run imo 6k. That one, GC has it overpriced of course but the front panel has a piece missing, and the back has a power amp out/line in mod, and cracked....so that amp might get 5. You're going to pay a premium for a plexiglass panel vs metal panel, just the way it is even though the circuit is the same, OT/PT the same etc.
Getting into the 68s, if it's a 12 series Ala EVH then it will be mucho $$. If you find a legit clean 12 series super lead, 10k on up. If it's a 10 series pre EVH(there's a 10 series, then 12 series, then back to 10 series into 69 until metal panels took over) then I'd say 8k for a super clean one.

I actually picked up a late 68/early 69 SuperTrem from that same GC last week. It was 4k, has a 1 wire mod(2203) but has original OT, standup replaced but vintage Dagnall 2562 PT, and 95% of the red dye/circuit remains original. This is the type of Plexi to look for IMO since it will be cheaper, and still has the important stuff like OG OT, and all the OG circuit parts save for a few changed out components. PT is a period correct Dagnall replacement but standup instead of original lay down.
The older you go, the more $$ is needed...but be careful, since there are known 'lash ups' out there...where a savvy but crooked restorer puts in legit parts in a vintage Marshall but the amp is a rebuild, and shouldn't get top dollar...

**If you are looking for a Plexi, my advice is to join the Marshall Forum and post pics in the Let's Talk Vintage sub forum as there are a few members who really really know all there is literally...they can even tell you that Marshall only used this color wire in early 69 for example. Super knowledgable.

dude, thank you! I've literally copied this into my notes. I'll be making an account on the Marshall forums pronto!!!

Hmm, an RT'er? 🤔

"This listing was ended by the seller on Sat, Jan 4 at 7:52 AM because the item is no longer available."
Seems like it could be. Look at what else that account is selling. Looks like numerous things could be listed like the Marshall and are being sold elsewhere.
