I have never had the pleasure of playing a Dumble, so I am having trouble understanding what the COD module would sound like exactly. My assumption is that it will be somewhat like a Fender Deluxe and therefore similar in some ways to the T/D module??? How does the COD compare with the T/D module??? Does the clean sound more like Deluxe clean or Twin clean?? Is the overdrive more or less than the B channel of the T/D???

Thanks,
Rick

To me it did not sound like those amps/modules. I thought it was a very unique sound. I really should get another but my money is a little tight right now. Hard to describe the COD, it's really nice. It is a clean sounding overdrive that sustains very well and the module itself is loud. It feedbacks in a different way than what you are used to because, like I said, it still doesn't seem to sound highly distorted or overdriven like a EG or SL2 or the higher gain modules. The clean, "A" side was not pristine like a DLX or Twin IMHO.

the COD isn't a clean module and it doesn't really sound anything like the T/D.

The COD is a medium gain, smooth overdrive with lots of mids. Kinda reminds me of an MP-1 with the gain cranked. probably a weird comparison.

I agree w/ guitarslinger. I use channel A of the COD for a dirty bluesy sound. It has a lot of clarity to it, and is midrangey, with a ton of chime to it. To me it has a "Chris Duarte" dirty tone to it. Very texas bluesy. Reminds me of the tone I used to get w/ my Fender Super Reverb w/ a Voodoo Lab Sparkle drive pushing the front end of the amp, with more balls. Channel B is more gain, but similar tone. I have used the COD w/ strats (HSS and SSS), heritage les paul, and my gretsch. I personally love it with my strats, and my gretsch. I really like it with all my guitars, but the Gretsch and Strats sound amazing with the reverb tank of my Mod50 and a delay pedal. I use it for doing some funky blues with my strats, and as a warm juicy lead tone w/ my gretsch. I use it next to the VX module which is really a unique sound, since I dial in Channel A of the VX for a "clean tone", and channel B for a harder rock tone (ala King's X). So I can get blues rock from the COD, and clean / hard rock from the VX.

I agree with all of the above, mostly. The COD is way more midrangy than the TD. The Twin side of the TD is sparkly clean, where the Deluxe is a darker kind of raunch tone. The COD reminds me of a Super Reverb, too, but cranked and with more grit. It also has a singing quality to it. So it's gritty but smooth at the same time. It's actually one of my favorite modules. Some great tones there. Very different from the TD.
