1st I must get an egnater the question is how and when. If money weren't a object I would order a loaded m4 and a mod50 combo at the same time.(but it is). I want the m4 and already have a rack set up but for portability a combo is what I would rather lug around I even considered tourmaster combo which is a great amp but 1400 I cant use mods with or what 500 more that I can. I'm so torn any suggestions or ways to attack this. thank you for any ideas

Mod50 head and 212,still pretty portable and sounds insane!!!!

+1 Mod 50 and a small cab is an awesome setup. Another option is the M4 with a small poweramp and FX unit. It all could fit in a a 6 space rack. Add a 2x12 and your set with 8 channels of tonal bliss

i guess it's that simple suck it up with a rack or go with a head and cab. I like the access of 8 channels of tonal nirvana so I lean towards the m4 I was just hoping that someone heard of a randall mts unit that I could pick up and use with my eganater modules that would be worth it. what's the thought on that? I just found out I might be able to get the mts stuff from a cousin working for a chain store. with a big discount are they worth it or will I just count the days till I get an egnater. just for the record rm4 is out I want dual channel modules but for the other stuff i'm open to thoughts

The Randall MTS stuff is really good too, but you will be limited to only using single channel modules. If you want dual channel modules, get an empty M4, and then put either dual or single channel modules in there! I would highly recommend getting an empty M4, and then getting either Randall or Eggie modules. A lot of people have Pete or Dave Friedman mod their Randall modules to make them "the best they can be"... :)

This too!!!

I say go with the 4212. I love mine! Heavy mother, but the wheels and side handles make it doable. 4 channels and a lot of sounds in there.

I don't gig (earn any $$$) but I do lug my equipment around to jam with friends. I've found that a head and 2X12 cab is best compromise of all possible set-ups. I've had back surgery so leaning into trunks and heaving around 2X12 combos & 4X12 cabs is painful, and rack stuff is an all-round pain in the ass, IMHO.

Plus, the M4 and it's 8 possible channels sounds great, but I find myself stuck on one channel on the mod50 ;P.

I hear you versatility is exciting but in the end after I try out all the modules tweeked or not I know that I will have my favorite tone and use it most often. also Ty from King's X has the M4 and primarily used only 2 of his 4 modules and the tone was amazing.
