Hello,

I am pretty new to the crazy MIDI footswitch stuff but I want to see if I can have just one footpedal (i have a FCB1010 already) and use it to channel switch the amp and turn like 3 FX pedals on or off based on some preset 'patch.'

I would really like to hide everything in the back of the Mod50 since theres a ton of room and can easily fit the footpedals inside with a little room left (if I stack 'em). I'm trying to keep it simple here so I dont have all this crap to hook up or lug around, which is why I got the Mod50 in the first place.

I have seen some rack-mounted MIDI audio switchers, but they have far too many outputs and a unit that large probably wont fit in the amp :)

I was looking at possibly using one of the small 'shunt-to-ground' amp MIDI switchers (which DON'T pass audio) and just hacking the actual switch inside the pedal since most are either pull-up or pull-down (usually easy to do).

The other option is to do the audio loop switching. THe only one I found that may fit is this guy: http://www.glab.com.pl/midi_4xloop_en

Any suggestions on what I should do?

Thanks,
Phil

Yea... def...

BUT, how would I store FX pedal patches WITH a channel change ? for example:

I want button 2 on the FS to be a patch that turns on the BMAN module, channel 1, with maybe a chorus and reverb pedal enabled.

Then maybe button 5 on the FS turns on the EG3/4, channel 2 with a digital delay pedal enabled.

I'd additionally like to program some of the other buttons to allow direct access to enable/disable each pedal incase I wanna change that patch.

I can't see how to do something like this with one FS controlling both the amp and pedal loop switcher. If i can get a system that can store 'patches' then I might as well be hitting all the pedals and channel switching at the same time like I try to do now

You're gonna need a MIDI pedalboard of some sort, they can switch and control multiple things at the same time on different MIDI channels. Cool stuff!

Have a look at the Voodoo Lab Ground Control Pro or the RJM Mastermind.

If you're looking for something cheap, look at the Behringer FCB1010: http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/FCB1010.aspx
EDIT: Apparently I didn't read your post that well... Sorry 'bout that! That FCB shoulb be able to control things too. :)

Good luck!

Kind of an update... I figured all the FX i'd like to stick in the back with the switcher wouldn't fit too well (not to mention having all settings 'fixed') so I sold off some FX pedals and have an LXP1 and LXP5 on the way. They should cover the delays, reverbs ( ahhhhhh ) , and choruses, maybe more... if I don't explode my brain trying to program 'em up first.
