compensated out vs effect loop send(einstein)

I never got an answer to this question. Where do the direct feeds come from on a Einstein 100 head(compensated out vs effects loop)? Meaning are they both from the same point in the circuit. I noticed if I use the parallel send that there is a drop in power and less highs in the EQ. Thanks Mike
