Hey Crew,

I have a prorack g that is running through the loop on my VH4. I do not need it for channel 1 or 2. I hooked up the prorack to the channel insert on 3 and loved it. Here is my question....Can I do this configuration and have it work????

Channel 3 send to the in of the prorack.
2 out of the prorack to the in of channel 4 insert
Out of the 4 insert to the in of channel 3?????

I do not have a midi rig which I know would make all this completely transparent. Thanks in advance for your answers and  on!

I'm not sure I follow, but from what I understand I dont think that'll work. If you just want it in the Channel 3 and 4 inserts and the effects unit isn't stereo ( if it's stereo I think this would be simple), maybe just use Y-cables the connect both sends to the single Prodack input and to connect the single Prorack output to both returns.

No, you cannot commingle the channel inserts, if I am following your explanation correctly.

Thanks for the answers. I figured that I could not jump the inserts.

Silly question, but are you using the Prorack to suppress noise from pedals in your FX loop?

No. The only thing in the loop is my delay. The prorack is looped into channel insert 3. The other side of the prorack is for the pedals out front.

I am running these dBx266's in all 4 of the channel inserts. Wanted a bit of compression on channels 1 and 2 and some gating on channels 3 and 4 on the attack and release. I can run the channel masters a bit higher and do away with unwanted feedback. Running it through the 2 cabs and the Two Notes for FOH. I really like these compressor/gates with the VH4. And, this makes good use of the channel inserts. Running only a delay and verb in the loop.

Hey Steve,

So how effective is the gate? Does it clamp right down?
