Converting Vintage Style Trem to Non Recessed Floyd?

I'm looking for some info on changing a 6 screw vintage trem into a non-recessed floyd. Any body have any info they would like to share?

You plug the 6 holes with dowels. Measure out the placement of the floyd, drill the two holes for the pivot points. The best way to redo the nut slut would probably be with a router/laminate trimmer and a jig.

So its as simple as it seems. Does the cavity need to be routed? Or will the Floyd fit?

im not 100% but you may need to shim the neck pocket too, since non-recessed floyds usually have angled neck pockets
