I think Steve's is an old Standel amp isn't it? Mark just gutted it and built the circuit on tag board.

Mark used the poor man's Metro kit and would gut any chassis he could get his hands on! Keeps it authentic and interesting though.....

Are you sure he gutted it. I don't think so. It sounds like he modded it. There were only a few of those prototypes. If you read this thread Steve said it was modded and is point to point with no boards. the amp has its third input in the footswitch jack on the back. It says it on the front of the amp. Mark called it the Smash channel. I assume that is the ultra high gain the guy referred to. I wonder if you could wire the three inputs together to run off a footswitch to the high jack on the front.chumbucket":25b51ez1 said:

No Standel amps have any boards I beleive Steve, PTP. In the descrioption of the above amp Danny asked Mark to mod/design three amps for high gain. It is possible Doug Aldrich has one , you have one, and the above is one. Although I am not sure if Mark did Dougs as I read he only used it for cleans. This a very old one.sah5150":1t36eht8 said:

That pic is of a very old one. These have been around since the early 50's. Yours is probably newer from 2001 after Danny took over the company. The Switchmaster looks interesting. I wonder how these amps are. Not much about them yet great players of old used them and Gibson and Fender copied them.sah5150":5nhw41xv said:
