Cool Marshall Astoria vid

They sound a bit wooly and congested when driving to me. Could be the mic and where they placed it. Not really hearing anything amazing. They just sound fine.

This vid here is much better imho, some good sounds in it. Don't like them all but there are some I think sound pretty good.

I just watched this the other day on the red Astoria, thought it was really cool!

Ha, that is the vid I meant to put in my post above yours but must have been asleep still and forgot to add it

Sounds pretty good. Seems expensive. I know it's handwired but aren't these made at Smarvo in China like some other companies have done. Some you may know about and others who keep it 100% secret. You might be surprised but then it would be very hard to ask several thousand for an amp if the word was out.
3K for a Chinese amp. I am not sure but I was told Santiago moved there to oversee production for Marshall at Smarvo.

That Guitarist vid is better. I like it for medium gain tones but when it drives hard the low end melds together and starts to lack too much definition. Its a lead tone, not a very good hard rock, rhythm tone. I judge all hard rock amps by how would Riff Riff sound through it and how would Steeler by Priest sound through it. This fails the Steeler test...

Got a source for this since several of the marketing / spec sheets say they're "Handwired in Bletchley, England"

Thats the issue. I do not. Just an extremely trustworthy individual who can never be outed who saw with his own eyes. Possibly not the Marshall, but others. "Handwired " Hand Assembled in USA" These are phrases that get around codes. Doesn't mean all boards are not stuffed at Smarvo and exported to England, etc. for the handwiring or assembling.

Mick is amazing (especially with a strat!) His silver Jub reissue video is one of the best demos on Youtube.
