I just ordered the torpedo live and i will be using a Forcusrite saffire pro 24. I want to make sure i get the correct spdif cable. Thank you.

... I use DAXX V99 coaxial cable with my Live.
I think it's more than enough for high-quality transmission of Live's digital signal .. :)

Hi!
I'm very interested in this topic .
I had problems with high-pitched noises when using an overdrive (without using the overdrive these noises were not). I made a big improvement, changing the head Plexi-Torpedo Live cable. So I want to know if someone has changed cable connections, have had problems similar to mine. And the SPDIF cable is a point that I'm considering.

Thanks!

I have no (and haven't had) problems with noise. If you always use good quality cables - speaker and instrument - you won't have problems with noise.
Overdrive can cause noise if you set the gain level too high. Lowering the gain level can help you to solve the noise problem. ;)

Thanks, Angry.

It is true what you comets. I have found using the plexi with a box in the traditional way. I'm trying to establish the boundary between the natural influence of the use of overdrives and quality of the cables (using the Torpedo Live). I, little by little, will improve the quality of all connections. I've seen videos on the use of distortion pedals, with Torpedo. And no noise. This leads me to ask about cables, to minimize their influence on the final result.

Thanks!

I'm trying to figure out what ends need to be in the cable I've seen a bunch of different options.

Great sound! And there is no indication of noise! :)
You've tried the Ecstasy Red with Plexi (or similar amp) and Torpedo?

Apart from the theme of this topic, I want to ask you if you can make it sound samples with the Electro-Harmonix 44. It is an interesting device!
What is the Torpedo model you have?

Thanks!

SPDIF cable should be rca jacks, 75 ohm and the right length for you application, trying to stay under 15'

for example

More importantly, your session needs to be clocked at 48 or 96kHz with the Live with the Live as master

High pitched noises are most likely because your guitar is super close to your amp and Torpedo.....try moving away a bit

My interface has a more traditional optical in. Can I get that with and rca style jack on the other side?

This sound sample was recorded with EHX Magnum44 as a power amp -- and Extasy Red as a preamp.
Guitar runs into Red - Red runs into Magnum - Magnum runs into Torpedo Live.
No any amps, no any tubes...
Cab that I used was BritGreen with sm57 (Dyn 57).
Torpedo model = Torpedo Live.

I will thank you if you can make other sound samples with that setup.

You have tube amp?

(Sorry for the offtopic :D )

anyone using reverb to simulate an actual room while playing through headphones? I was thinking of picking up a hall of fame mini because it has the AMB feature. tc "Ambience is a cool very short reverb that emulates the feeling of environment. Perfect to compensate for that desert-dry feeling of a close-miked cabinet."
