Man, this thing’s angry. Really digging it. Trying to decide how I like the mids so did a quick test at 2.5, 1.5, and 4. This isn’t reamping with a DI or anything just tracking the amp with headphones then panning left and right so not perfect. Let me know what you think. Obviously best listening on monitors. If you must… turn your phone sideways so it’s stereo….

Sounds killer. What tubes did you get? Also, the rhythm boost influences the lead channel when pulled.

Rhythm boost was not pulled. Had no idea about that. But man it’s angry lol. What does that function do, had to power down for the night. KT66 120 watt. @RedB4Black old amp.

Forgot to add, let me know what sound you like best out of those. Can hear where the mids change as there is a pause between the riffing.

Cool riff Bram...could definitely hear the changes in the mids..I personally liked the last run.

Yeah, I didn't know about it either until someone on here mentioned it. It's just another boost that affects the lead channel. It's actually my favorite one out of them all. So many ways you can tweak that amp.

Probably the most powerful eq on an amp ,so many ways to sculpt different frequencies . You seen my clips right ?

I will say, the eq range on the amp is wild. Even just the difference in my clips changing the mid range 1.5, 2.5, and 4… big changes.

How do you like it or compare it to your Uber Ultra? I'm curious because Matt Henson sold his HR and kept his Ultra. He is the resident Wizard master here no doubt so it says a lot when he kept his Ultra instead. Your thoughts?

In my opinion these are the kings of this modern high gain thing going on right now IMO. Especially right out of the box. Both have an insane amount of flexibility too. in ways they have that in common with the other… with the amount of different sounds that can be had and how versatile the eq is on both. The thing I’ll say is, to me the Uber ultra is like the ultimate bogner uber and can do pretty much all the bogner Uber tones and have its own sound as well. The Wizard hell razor is this, but with the Wizard tones. Both are absolute top of class, and both record very easy to the point I think either amp I could put into a mix dialed a certain way and not even need to EQ. You still obviously would to get best results for a release or something, but they’re both THAT good. I really do need to sit down and AB them. And I’ll probably do a legit recording doing so as well.
My early assessment is I’ll be keeping both.

I’ll add that, the hell razor is honestly what I’ve wanted out of a Fryette, Wizard circuit out of the box. I love my mtl, and mc but to get what I want out of them… I need a boost, maybe eq etc. This I just plug in and am good to go. So much so that I am strongly considering selling my mtl and mc. But it is the honeymoon stage.

Congrats!! Your clip sounds great! I have the KT150 version and it's one of my top 3 high gain amps I've tried and even curious about some of the other power tube versions if I can sell enough other stuff to fund another lol (won't happen anytime soon probably)

I liked your first run in the clip. I hear more initial attack that makes it come off more aggressive and cutting

Amp sounds sick! Glad you are liking it!

That's my old amp he has actually. I have a 50w el34 HR that I liked a little better than the KT66… a little more raw sounding.

The KT66 is a killer amp. I did like it slightly more than the Uber, but in reality for twice the price, I kept the Uber because they’re that close IMO. If I didn’t have the 50, I probably would not have sold the KT66 120

Thanks dude, I think that’s how I’ll probably run it, as I liked that the best…. But who knows. Amp is so damn versatile, probably find a new tone every time I plug in like the ultra.

I do think it’s worth adding that I did get it at a good used price. I have my limit on what I’ll spend and it’s right at the cap. For that it’s worth it to me, but I wouldn’t spend the new price for sure. For half the price the Uber ABSOLUTELY hangs with it.
