Couldn't resist! NG incoming

I've been downsizing but I realized I missed my favorite guitar from my youth too much... The flying V.

When I was young, I couldn't afford a Gibson V, so I put a Ibanez Rocket Roll on lay-away and rocked it until about 1992..

Here is a picture of my scrawny self in 1985:

Here is the type of guitar that MSG has been playing:

I found a good deal on a new one just like this...

Can't wait to jam on one of these again...

nice and early congrats!

my first "good" guitar was a Japanese flying V, I forget the brand, I remember it was a crimson red with darker wood grain that looked black, white pickguard...

just be careful, there are some "esthetically challenged" V's out there

Awesome bro! I too am in search of a good v. Never played or owned one. Not hung up on brand…just want good quality. The Faulkner v hits all my boxes but I will never spend thousands on one. Thinking about saying fuck it and getting a chibson temu special.

I have two Gibson V’s. One is a white mid 2000’s model and I just love it. Great neck profile, factory frets with some height on them and sounds great. I got it used from GC, many years ago and it came in a weird coffin shaped case (not Gibson).

I'm planning to do a MSG tribute... I couldn't resist...lol..

I zoomed in on the link....russian cossack hat...got one off Amazon. Life rule number 1. Good
enough for Michael Schenker, good enough for me. Life rule 2...only applies to guitar playing, gear...and russian cossack hats. Rule 3. Never confuse Michael for Rudolf. Rule 4. Never forget number 3.

On a more serious note...huge congrats on the V, I'm delighted for you.
